Key Assumptions
  • CPF interest rates remain at 2.5% (OA) and 4% (SA/MA/RA) throughout the projection
  • Extra 1% interest on first $60,000 of combined CPF balances (with up to $20,000 from OA)
  • Additional 1% interest on first $30,000 for members aged 55 and above
  • CPF Life Payouts start from 65 and are fixed, according to the CPF standard plan, but payout amount grows at 2% to modestly take into account growth in retirement sums
  • Inflation effects on purchasing power are not factored in the model, but you may consider that in your monthly retirement income
  • Healthcare costs and mortgage payments that may affect MA and OA balances are not factored in
  • Current CPF policies and withdrawal ages are assumed to remain unchanged
  • CPF SA closes at age 55, with remaining SA balance transferred to OA (2026 policy)
  • MA ceilings and Basic Retirement Sum (BRS) are projected to grow at 3.5% annually
  • Full Retirement Sum (FRS) and Enhanced Retirement Sum (ERS) are set at 2x and 4x of BRS
  • Monthly/Annual Cash and investment contributions cease at planned retirement age, but continue to be compounded at selected growth rates

Note: Values in this table represent end-of-year balances. During retirement, funds are drawn in sequence: CPF LIFE payouts → Excess CPF (OA/SA) → Cash → Investments.
